Forget what you knew about sweet wine

Heidi Schröck, a winegrower in Rust on Lake Neusiedl, produces sweet wines with a particularly distinctive character. They can now be found on wine lists in Japan, America and Scandinavia, amongst other places. And: they’re not just for pairing with cheese or cake. Heidi is very conscious of her mission. To ensure that gourmets can tell from the wine label what the wine goes well with, Alessandri Design & Marken Manufaktur commissioned British illustrator Alice Patullo to draw a fine selection of internationally recognisable staple foods. Incidentally, in December, the British Financial Times ranked Heidi Schröck among the world’s most important female winemakers in its ‘Women of 2014’ section. She was the only Austrian to feature.
