Monumental

Few other estates epitomise the long history of viticulture in Austria quite like Gobelsburg Castle – a history that has always been intertwined with that of monasteries and monastic culture. We felt honoured when the far-sighted and wonderful Michael Moosbrugger commissioned us to create a work worthy of the occasion. After all, it’s not every day you get the chance to design a book to mark a winery’s 850th anniversary. So it simply had to feature the finest typography and gold embossing.
The result is a masterpiece, just like the unique wine cellar built from bricks to mark the anniversary, of which Michael Moosbrugger says: “We don’t build anything that will only last a hundred years.” In Gobelsburg, they simply think on a different scale.
