It was Hofer who, with Domäne Wachau, brought an exquisite range of white wines (‘Pale yellow with green highlights’) to the shelves – a range that surprises us four times a year with a different wine, though always a Grüner Veltliner, always featuring two fish on the label (starting with pike and trout, followed by catfish, zander, huchen, sturgeon and other Danube fish), always of the highest quality, always ideal as an accompaniment to food, but not only.
