Looking beautifully aged
Schloss Gobelsburg
PackagingWhat do you do with a treasure trove of wine aged for 50 years (in words: fifty years) from the deepest cellars of the Gobelsburg Padres? Into the box it goes – that is to say, you open it carefully, blend it anew and create limited-edition cuvées aged 50, 10 and 3 years. (Although blending vintages is otherwise rather rare and is usually only seen with fine port wines.)
In any case, the ‘Tradition’ wines draw inspiration from winemaking practices of the early 19th century. We therefore felt that the age deserved respect, and so the labels were printed as facsimiles, given a mouldy finish, look wonderfully dusty and, even on closer inspection, could easily be 200 years old.
